Sunshine, rock gods and Hollywood hearthrobs! Jessie Jefferson is back in the next instalment from bestselling author Paige Toon. Perfect for fans of Geek Girl, Jessica Cole and Girl Online. Life as the undercover daughter of a rock god isn't going to be easy. How will Jessie adjust to her old boring life again after spending her summer living it up with her dad in LA? With tough decisions ahead (and not just choosing between two hot boys), can she cope juggling her two very different lives? Summer may be over, but Jessie's story is just beginning…
I just finished reading The Accidental Life of Jessie
Jefferson by Paige Toon and the ending was left wide open so I wasted no time and
dived straight in to book 2 I Knew you Were Trouble which was equally as good
as the first book and is another fast paced read.
Jessie is discovering that being the daughter to a rock star
comes with its challenges. Jessie feels like she is living in Limboland not
quite able to work out where she fits in now she is split between home and LA
and her heart is also split in two.
If you haven’t read book one or if you read it a while ago don’t
worry as the first couple of chapters do make reference to the main points in
the previous book so you will soon be up to speed. The book gets off to a shocking
and eventful start and it is clear that Jessie’s life is taking a dramatic
change. She is at a point where it is time to make some big decisions but there
is a lot to take into consideration which is difficult at her young age.
Johnny and Meg greet us again in this book but they take
more of a back seat in this book especially Meg which gave us more chance to
focus on Jessie without being upstaged by her dad who we all know and love!
This book again is perfect for adults as well as young
adults because we have all been through those difficult teenage years where you
are working out who you are and where your place is in the world and also
finding your true friendship groups as personalities begin develop and this is
what Jessie is going through in this boo as well as facing typical romance dilemmas!
We see more of Agnes in this book and it looks like a strong
friendship is developing but I also thing that Ages will bring some light and
humour to the storyline with her sweet meddling ways and her vibrant
personality.
I was once again absorbed by Paige Toon’s writing style and
found I couldn’t put the book down which ended up in me reading in a day again.
My only problem now is how will I cope waiting for the release of book 3?
