Love Story by Lindsey Kelk

She’s a small-town schoolteacher, he’s a hotshot creative director. Together, it’s hate at first sight.

Sophie Taylor has a secret and Joe Walsh is the last person she'd tell. He’s devilishly handsome, incredibly hot – and far too sure of himself.

But Sophie desperately needs his help.

Because she's not just hiding something small. She is Este Cox, the mysterious romance author the entire world is desperate to unmask.

When a trip to the countryside means sharing a cottage with only one bed, it’s a short step to sharing a whole lot more besides… Can Sophie trust Joe with the truth – and be herself?

I am a huge Lindsey Kelk fan so I never hesitate in picking up her new release and I always go in blind not knowing what is awaiting me in the cover of her books other than an expected book of witty humour and a troubled romance. Her new release is Love Story is the perfect Summer read that had me chuckling away in the sunshine as I flew through this story in no time.

I loved the fact the storyline was wrapped around everything bookish, from book publishing characters, an author desperate to conceal her identity and a new bookshop launch so I was being absorbed into a world that intrigues me.

Our FMC is the lovely Sophie who was easy to warm to from early in the book and I could understand her reasons for wanting to keep her identity secret even if I knew the inevitable was going to happen at some point. Her love interest is the gorgeous Joe and he brings a splash of spice to the storyline and together they provide a few spicy scenes, sexual tension and some witty situations too my favourite being when Joe found himself in an unfortunate scenario with Sophie’s steamy auntie!

I absolutely loathed her brattish sister Charlotte and I was surprised to find myself coming around to her character a little at the end. I have to day I was a little jealous of her bookshop too! It looks at the incredible pressure people put on themselves when it comes to parents approval no matter what age we are we still hide things we know they may not approve of even into adulthood!

This books oozes Lindsey Kelks modern wit and romance, it is fast paced and engaging definitely one you will fly through this Summer.

The Christmas Wish by Lindsey Kelk

Newly single lawyer Gwen Baker is hoping that a family Christmas – countryside, a mountain of food and festive films –
will salve the sting of her career hanging by a thread and her heart being trampled on. Because everyone else has their life sorted: even Dev, her boy-next-door crush, is now a tall, dark and handsome stranger with a fiancĂ©e. She can’t help wishing her future was clearer.

Then Gwen wakes up to discover it’s Christmas day all over again. Like Groundhog Day but with turkey. And family arguments. On repeat.

As she figures out how to escape her own particular Christmas hell, Dev is the one bright spot. He might be all grown-up but underneath he’s just as kind and funny as she remembers.

Maybe, just maybe, her heart can be mended after all.

But how do you fall in love with someone who can’t remember you from one day to the next?

The Christmas Wish is this years festive novel by Lindsey Kelk and as ever it is full of this authors lough out loud moments that I love and expect each time I pick up one of her books.

Gwen and her cousin Manny are heading back home for their family Christmas but Gwen has had a terrible couple of months since being dumped by her partner so the last thing she needs is the typical family drama. Things only get worse when she finds herself stuck in a time loop reliving Christmas day over and over again.

Gwen was a lovable main character who has had a run of bad luck and as she relieves Christmas each day trying to make changes to try and break the loop she begins to build a better understanding of her family and it just goes to show sometimes we are all to wrapped up in our own lives to see what’s really going on with those around us.

Manny was by far my favourite character, his flamboyant ways and the humour that he brought to this novel meant that I looked forward to his appearance in the book each time. Each of the family members bring something to the storyline and as each Christmas day is relived, we begin to find out more about each of them in turn.

There is a sweet romance or two blossoming which may have been a little predictable, but this didn’t dampen the enjoyment of this novel. There are some festivity sprinkled in with it being set on Christmas day but it isn’t overly festive so can easily be read any time of year.

This is another entertaining witty read by Lindsey Kelk.

In Case You Missed It by Lindsey Kelk

When Ros steps off a plane after four years away she’s in need of a job, a flat and a phone that actually works. And, possibly, her old life back. Because everyone at home has moved on, her parents have reignited their sex life, she’s sleeping in a converted shed and she’s got a bad case of nostalgia for the way things were.

Then her new phone begins to ping with messages from people she thought were deleted for good. Including one number she knows off by heart: her ex’s.

Sometimes we’d all like the chance to see what we’ve been missing…

You know it is a good day when the new Lindsey Kelk novel lands on your kindle, it is a day that you abandon all plans because you know you are in for a treat! In Case You Missed It is te title of her latest release and this book came at the perfect time as I was in need of something light hearted and witty to read and that is something we can always rely on in a Lindsey Kelk storyline.

Ros has been living it up in America for the past three years but she has now returned home to England with no job awaiting her, no man coming back on her arm and having to move back to her parents. Things are not looking bright but with the support of her life long friends back around her surely, she can turn things around and get her career and love life back on track.

Lindsey Kelk isn’t shy in creating flawed characters and I think this is what makes me love her characters and why they stick with me long after I have finished the books because they are so relatable by the time you are half way through her novels you feel as though you are one of the group reading about friends!

Lindsey Kelk always excels in creating such life like and relatable characters who hold the most natural and believable friendships amongst her characters. In this storyline there is a large friendship group with Ros, Sumi, Lucy and Adrian each of the characters are so well developed and have individual personality traits so they are easy to differentiate early on and they each bring their own little something to the group.

The storyline was predictable but this didn’t stop my enjoyment of the novel because although I could tell what would be the outcome in Ros’s love life the witty roller-coaster of a journey that she takes to get there held my attention the whole way through.

The storyline shows that we should never focus on looking back and comparing but looking forward and making the most of life and aim for your dreams rather than settling for the familiar. Know your worth and don’t stop until you achieve what you want and deserve.

This was the perfect pacey, light hearted humour read that I needed for this dull and dreary day it sure did bring a smile to my face and brightness to my day, this is definitely going to be a hit with Lindsey Kelk fans.

I Heart Hawaii by Lindsey Kelk

When Angela Clark’s best friend Jenny invites her to join a press trip to Hawaii, three days of sun, sea and sleep sounds like the perfect antidote to her crazed life.

At work in New York, she’s supposed to be the face of Having It All. But the only thing Angela feels she excels at is hiding in the printer cupboard, eating Mini Cheddars and watching Netflix on her phone and if this is living the dream, she's more than ready to wake up.

A few days away with Jenny sounds like exactly what she needs but Angela’s talent for getting into a scrape guarantees nothing goes to plan – and not even the most beautiful beaches, blue skies and daiquiris will get her off the hook…

The excitement I have always felt with a new release from the I Heart Series was fizzing away as I was about to start I Heart Hawaii but there was also sorrow bubbling under the surface knowing that this is going to b the last time I get swept away with Jenny and Angela’s antics with this being the final book in the series.

Angela looks like she has it all, but she needs time away from her crazed life and some quality time with her friends so when Jenny coerces her into jetting off to an all expense paid business trip to Hawaii it seems like the break she needs. As ever nothing goes smoothly and its not long before the women find themselves wrapped up in their usual antics!

Lindsey Kelk has tied this series up beautifully and as much as I hate the fact that this is the final book in the series I think it  is best to go out on a high after years of tears, laughter, friendship, mishaps and romance there is little more that can be done with the group now so I think it was right to end the series here.

With the I Heart books there always comes lots of mishaps and comedic antics which I absolutely love and this is carried on into this finale. Friendships and relationships are on a bumpy ride but deep down I knew that Jenny and Angela would be ok as they have got such a deep bond, a friendship I would love to have and no matter what these women go through and what they sling at each other they are always there for each other in their time of need and it is their friendship that has drawn me into these books time and time again.

The storyline is predominantly set in Hawaii as the title suggests but where as the locations are normally so vivid in my mind after Lindsey Kelks descriptions I personally didn’t find this as much with this novel the focus was more on the activities they undertook but I was ok with this it was on these activities that a lot of the witty parts occurred and I was looking forward to funny storyline.

I Heart fans will not be disappointed by this book even though it will be hard to leave these characters who almost feel like friends they are so real to us behind.

We Were on a Break by Lindsey Kelk

Is it a break? Or is it a blip?
‘You’ve just had a holiday,’ I pointed out, trying not to yawn.
‘Wasn’t that enough of a break?’ ‘I don’t mean that kind of break.’

There’s nothing worse than the last day of holiday. Oh wait, there is. When what should have been a proposal turns into a break, Liv and Adam find themselves on opposite sides of the life they had mapped out.

Friends and family all think they’re crazy; Liv throws herself into work – animals are so much simpler than humans – and Adam tries to get himself out of the hole he’s dug.

But as the short break becomes a chasm, can they find a way back to each other? Most importantly, do they want to?

You can always rely on a belly laugh novel from Lindsey Kelk and that was just the kind of book I needed so I was over the moon when We Were on a Break arrived through the post.

Liv and Adam embark on the holiday of their dreams in Mexico and Liv is sure she will come back with something sparkly on her finger! Things don’t quite go to plan and things go from one extreme to the other and the pair end up on a break. But if it is true love will they work things out or are they just not destined to be together?

First of all I felt a sense of deja vu when I began reading this book as it sounded like a retelling of the time I want to Mexico with my partner (now husband phewwww) and expected to come home with a diamond on my finger and instead had a memorable experience where it all went wrong (I can thankfully look back and laugh now) so I don’t know if it was because I could relate somewhat to the opening chapter was why I enjoyed the opening chapter so much as I could picture Liv and knew what the thoughts and feelings were that were running through her mind!

The book is told from both Liv and Adam’s points of view which worked perfectly in this book as it allowed us to make our own minds up rather than judge each of them just based on what we are being told by one character. I thought they were both perfect for each other and I was hoping for a happy ever after but as certain things happen along the way I wasn’t sure that they would be able to get back on track again.

There were some great witty moments in this book my favourite being the window incident with Liv! I found this book totally addictive, humorous, romantic and completely unpredictable and so this book is definitely up there with my favourites by Lindsey Kelk.

If you are looking for a witty feel good read then make sure you pick this book up, it won’t disappoint.

Always the Bridesmaid by Lindsey Kelk

Today it is my stop on the Always the Bridesmaid blog tour with Lindsey Kelk which is out TOMORROW! Lindsey has kindly taken the time to answer some questions I wanted to ask her....

1) Describe your new book Always the Bridesmaid in 5 words.
A book for the ages. Cough. Or, funny, honest, sweary, joyous and fun. Fun is very important.

2) Have you had a lot of experiences being a bridesmaid which have helped with ideas for this book, or did you listen to other people's experiences?
I’ve actually only had the honour three times, once when I was little and twice as a grown up – a lot of my best friends are still single and the others weren’t especially traditional with their weddings. In all honesty, the book isn’t about 100% about being a bridesmaid, it’s about playing second fiddle and never being front and centre in your own life, something I think a lot of people can identify with.

3) Will this book be a standalone or can we expect to meet the characters again?
A lot of my characters cross over from book to book, there might even be a couple of people you’re vaguely familiar with hiding in ATB! At the moment, Maddie’s story is a one off but she’ll definitely be back in some way, shape or form.

4) You have set many of your books in some amazing countries, is there a particular country you would like to visit, of course purely for research purposes for a new book?
I’m desperate to visit Japan but for whatever reason, it keeps escaping me. I’ll get there eventually!

5) What has been the best book you have read this year?
I’m reading Kazou Ishuguro’s The Buried Giant and I love it. Never Let Me Go is one of my favourite books of all time so I’m pretty bloody excited about this one.

6) If you were stuck on a deserted island what would be your three must have items?
iPod, sunscreen and that bloody Mr Frosty slushie maker my mum wouldn’t let me have when I was seven.

Quick fire time:
Kindle vs paperback - Kindle
Sun holiday vs city break – Sun holiday
Shoes vs handbag – ARGH. Handbag.
Sweet vs Savoury – CRUEL MISTRESS. Sweet.
Night out vs Night in - Night in

MY REVIEW

The excitement has been bubbling yet again as the release date of a new Lindsey Kelk book is in sight, I feel like a kid about to walk into a sweetshop as I hold my copy of Always the Bridesmaid and I know my bum will not leave this couch for the day now I have this book in my hands!

Maddie has her hands full, one of her best friends Lauren is celebrating her upcoming marriage and e pets Maddie to plan it all for her in a ridiculously short time span whilst her other best friend Sarah has revealed she is unexpectedly getting a divorce. As Maddie tries to juggle work as an events planner assistant with a promotion on the cards with being the supportive friend to Lauren and Sarah she needs to take her brothers advice and "Just say No" once in a while and put herself first.

In true Lindsey Kelk form you can expect a fun and witty read with flawed characters in Always the Bridesmaid. The book is told by diary entry's in the bridesmaid journal which worked really well in this book and I loved at the beginning of each entry the Today I feel, and Today I am Thankful for part they made me chuckle as they went from bad to worse!

Maddie, Lauren and Sarah are close friends and deep down love each other and are supportive but there are many times where their relationship became quite explosive. I loved each of the girls, Lauren had a typical touch of a Bridezilla addition to her personality with her upcoming wedding which brought a great gritting teeth moments as well as humor, Sarah was going through a difficult time so she was at times quiet at other times a blubbering wreck and then there was our dear Maddie who was my favourite and provided so many laughs from her general attitude to her unfortunate mishaps especially in an event that she planned nearer the end of the book which didn't quite go to plan!

This was yet another winner for me from Lindsey Kelk she has created some wonderful characters in this book and weaved an entertaining storyline around them which I couldn't get enough of, Kelk fans will be eager to get their hands on this book and they won't be disappointed.

What a Girl Wants by Lindsey Kelk

Being arrested in your own bedroom is never a good start to the day. Tess Brookes really needs to sort out her back-stabbing flatmate – and her life. Should she gamble all on the new photography job she’s landed, or snap up the offer from long-time crush and best friend Charlie to start up on their own – in more ways than one? There’s just one small thing she hasn’t mentioned. Or rather, one tall thing. He’s handsome, infuriating and called Nick… For the first time, Tess has to choose between the life she always dreamed of and a future she never imagined possible. From London to Milan, with high fashion and low behaviour thrown in, she’s going to have to make up her mind what a girl really wants…

I have read every single one of Lindsey Kelk’s book and have enjoyed them all so much I get so excited every time a new one is released and when I heard she was doing a follow on to About A Girl I knew I had to get my hands on a copy and quick!

Tess is back in England and has some decisions to make she is torn does she follow her dreams or take the sensible option in both her career and her love life, will she make the right decision? Either way her troublesome friend Amy will be with her along the way to help Tess and give her advice!

I loved reuniting with these characters what I always love with Kelks books is she always creates such fun and loveable supporting characters and I always prefer them to the main characters! Amy and Kekipi bring a touch of humour to this book and a bit of fun to Tess’s life! The book starts where About A Girl ended and it really does start in true Lindsey Kelk form and wit! I am still well and truly in team Nick but poor Tess still doesn’t seem to know who she wants to be with. What I love about Tess is she is such a flawed character trouble just seems to follow her, she gets into so many sticky situations without meaning to which I can relate to but maybe not quite in the extreme cases as Tess.

A lot of the book was set in Milan which was a gorgeous setting for this book and of course the author always has a skill in descriptive writing when it comes to glamorous locations. The book was fast paced and eventful so it is easy to devour in one sitting! I loved the ending to this book to, I couldn’t work out what way Tess was going to go so the author managed to keep us in suspense.

I really enjoyed this book and although it wasn’t as good as About A Girl it was still a fantastic follow on and I can see Lindsey Kelk writing another book in this series and I will definitely be in line to pick up a copy.

I Heart Christmas by Lindsey Kelk

Angela’s planning her very own fairytale of New York…
 • Enormous Christmas tree
 • Eggnog • Eccentric British traditions
 • Gorgeous man

But Santa’s throwing her a few curveballs – new job (as if it’s not mental enough already), new baby-craze from her best friend Jenny, and Alex determined they should grow up and settle down. Once friends start turning up uninvited on her doorstep (and leading her astray), can Angela really have a merry little Christmas? So much for happy holidays – something’s got to give…

My favourite Chick lit series by far is the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk, each year I look forward to another release and to top it off this year it is a Christmas themed book whoop whoop! This is not a book you will be able to buy and save until Christmas as it sits there twinkling at you so you have to cave in and read it!

As Christmas approaches Angela is like a kid in a sweet shop, she is so excited about all things Christmas that she decides to take time off of work to enjoy doing all things festive with Alex. If only everything was a smooth as that! Where ever Angela is concerned there is always disorder and mischief that occurs and true to form her Christmas is about to be turned upside down thanks to a surprise from husband Alex, a friend in need and to top it all a major change at work.

I loved this book so much. The witty humour is back in full swing and it is such a natural humour that you can’t help but chuckle away. All of our favourite characters are back and in full blown chaos. One thing you can always rely on is that Angela and Jenny will always have some big drama going on in their lives and it sure does keep me entertained. Angela and Alex are now married and I think this is a great direction in which Lindsey Kelk has taken her characters as they are now facing problems that come with settling down.

We get to see a lot more of Angela’s friend Louisa in this book and she is a loveable character. Jenny is still my firm favourite when it comes to the I Heart series she is so unpredictable, spontaneous and hilarious, I would do anything to have a friend like her life could never be dull with her around! I actually found I could relate to Angela’s character in this book ( is this a good thing?!) one of the dilemma’s she faces I can totally sympathise with and the article she wrote about on this topic was hitting the nail on the head for me.

There was a festive feel to this book with the storyline being set on the lead up to Christmas but it wasn’t overly festive so I still feel like this book could be read throughout the year.  I still don’t feel like the I Heart series is over, to me this book has actually set a new foundation for a new book and I am keeping everything crossed that the author does entertain us with another one. This is cetainly one not to be missed and needs to be under all chick lit fans Christmas Tree this year.

It is a fun , festive, fabulous read that you will want to tell all your book friends about but I am not sure you will want to share your copy!

About A Girl by Lindsey Kelk

Tess Brookes has always been a Girl with a Plan. But when the Plan goes belly up, she’s forced to reconsider. After accidentally answering her flatmate Vanessa’s phone, she decides that since being Tess isn't going so well, she might try being Vanessa.

With nothing left to lose, she accepts Vanessa’s photography assignment to Hawaii – she used to be an amateur snapper, how hard can it be? Right? But Tess is soon in big trouble. And the gorgeous journalist on the shoot with her, who is making it very clear he’d like to get into her pants, is an egotistical monster.

Far from home and in someone else’s shoes, Tess must decide whether to fight on through, or ‘fess up and run…

I am a huge Lindsey Kelk fan, the characters in her I Heart books are fabulous and so when I heard she was bringing a new series out I was a very excited to start a fresh series but also a little hesitant in case the characters in About a Girl weren’t as good as our old friends! Luckily there was nothing to worry about as the characters in this book are awesome.
Tess finds herself in despair, she has lost her job which consumed 99.9% of her life, she has also put her foot in it with the guy she has had feelings for for years. Most of us would sit in bed with a bottle of wine and an unlimited supply of chocolate for a month but Tess has other ideas!
When her flat mate Vanessa’s agent calls about a job Tess decides to fly to Hawaii and take the job from Vanessa. Will life in Vanessa’s shoes be a better fit for Tess or will her old life still be calling her back?

I Heart Fans, you will Love this,
Lindsey Kelk Fans, you will Love this,
Chick lit fans, you will Love this,
Bookworms, you will Love this!

This review could easily be summed up by the words above but as I like to chat away I will give yu a full review!

The storyline was fun and lighthearted and flowed at a quick pace, it still has a great modern feel to it like the I Heart books and the shock factors are still in full swing. Not knowing what will happen to Tess next which makes you keep pacing through the pages.

Tess is a loveable, fun and bubbly character who you love from the second we meet her. We meet Tess at the beginning of what seems like a big change in direction in her life. Kekipi was one of my favourite characters he brought a lot of humour to the book.

Friendships and romance features greatly in this book which is a massive bonus for me. I always love how Lindsey Kelk always manages to set a perfect scene and this book is no exception, she describes the surroundings and beaches of Hawaii perfectly that they are tantalisingly good you just want to jet off and live the story with the character. I can not wait to read What A Girl Wants as I do feel like Lindsey has been mean with the ending of this one, she has left me hanging!

A perfect summer read that introduces us to a new world of great characters, Lindsey Kelk has written yet another must read !

I Heart Vegas by Lindsey Kelk

Are any of you Lindsey Kelk fans? Well guess what she is back! This time with I Heart Vegas, and I could tell just by the cover and the synopsis that I was going to love this one.

Plot
After her first standalone novel, The Single Girl’s To-Do List, Lindsey returns with a sparkling and romantic new novel in the I Heart series.
Angela Clark loves her life in New York. She a Brit who’s conquered the Big Apple. Unfortunately, she’s also a Brit who’s lost her job. And when, just a couple of weeks before Christmas, the immigration department gets wind of this, Angela needs to find a new job urgently. Or a husband. And she doesn’t think her boyfriend Alex will be keen.
A girls’ weekend in Vegas with her best friend Jenny seems the perfect way to forget her troubles. From the minute they arrive Angela is swept up in a whirl of cocktails, outrageous outfits, late nights and brushes with the chapel of love. But rather than escaping trouble, Angela is up to her neck in it….
But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas – right?
With a bonus Angela’s Guide to Vegas - the ultimate city break guide!

My Opinion
Ok for any of you who find the word beginning with C associated with women’s fiction books close your eyes now!! This series has to be one of the best Chick Lit series I have ever read! I even go as far as to say I prefer the I Heart series to the Shopaholic series as the characters seem a little more down to earth.

I Heart Vegas is Lindsey Kelks latest release and it really doesn’t disappoint. If you are an I Heart fan then this book should be the next on your to be read list. Angela is back and has found herself yet again in an impossibly difficult situation this time involving a letter informing her that she needs a visa or she is heading back to England. After reading the previous I Heart series we have become familiar with Angela’s character and so when we read this bit of news we know that this is going to get very messy and of course very funny but at Angela’s expense!

I found that Angela’s best friend Jenny, was featured a lot more in this book and it is no secret after reading my previous reviews that she is one of my favourite chick-lit characters. Her character was able to grow a little more in this book and as usual she brought the humour above and beyond the previous books. We also see alot more of Alex in this book and I enjoyed seeing a little more of Angela and Alex’s relationship without the rollercoaster ride they are usually on.

There was always something going on in I Heart Vegas and I found that it flowed a comfortable pace. I would definitely recommend you pick up this book to see where Angela’s adventures are taking her next!

I am eagerly awaiting Lindsay Kelk’s new book which is due out next year as I think I am going to feel right at home with this one judging by the title I Heart London!!!!

The Single Girl's To Do List by Lindsey Kelk

I have read all of Lindsey Kelk’s books including her kindle book Jenny Lopez Has A Bad Week, and I have enjoyed every one of them. While I have patiently been waiting for the new I Heart book to come out I then heard that Lindsey Kelk was releasing another book called A Single Girls To Do List. I could not wait to read this one hoping it was going to be as good as her previous books.

Plot
Rachel Summers has been dumped by the heartless Simon. Her best friends Emelie and Matthew are on hand to help her come to terms with singlehood as it is somewhere Rachel has never found herself for long. They decide it is best for her to conquer being single for once and for all to make her get over Simon.

Rachel has always had a thing about making lists so it seemed the perfect thing to do with a few drinks inside of them to sit and come up with a Single Girls To Do List!  Little does Rachel know this list is going to take her on an adventurous journey doing things she has never even dreamed of doing!

My Opinion
I cannot explain to you my excitement when this arrived on my door mat to review. Luckily I had just finished Freya North Chances and so I could start this book straight away. My problem with this book was I enjoyed it so much I had finished it a night later!

The first thing which needs to be mentioned about this book is the front cover. This cover is going to scream out at you from the shelves to buy it. Bold and eye-catching is the only way to describe this book. There will be no hunting for this book. The title is in bold pink letters which have been written on a list. The back ground is light blue with pink stars and a pink car in the top corner, every chick lit lovers dream cover!

The main character in this book is Rachel. From the start of this book I loved her character. When we meet Rachel she is being dumped by Simon and so we meet Rachel right from the start of her journey and see the emotion she is going through. I think this is why we warm to her character straight away as I am sure most of us have found ourselves in her situation so we can relate to her character.

I loved her friends Emelie and Matthew, I found that they helped to bringthe humor to the story which was a good touch as it broke the book up so that the story wasn’t doom and gloom. We could all do with friends like them.
I did find that it took me a while to like the character of Dan who works on set with Rachel. There was something about him which made me sit on the fence about his character right upto the end of the book I didn’t feel like I could trust him.

I found that The Single Girl’s To Do List had a similar feel to the I Heart series books even though it is a stand alone book. It is an easy read, nothing to challenging and yet enjoyable all the same.

This book is a real page turner and it kept me entertained the whole way through the book. From the first page we were off on a fast pace being drawn into the story and the book carried on in this way. There were no low points to the book were you would usually find yourself skimming a chapter. The ending was up nicely. In my opinion the end of the book really was the end of the book for me. When I read The I Heart series at the end of each book I found myself needing another book as they felt like they had somewhere else to go and I felt the same with The Jenny Lopez has A Bad Week book, but with this book I did not feel that the book could go any further. I hope it does just stay as a stand alone book.

This book is very out there with its contents so you need to have an imagination to read it, the things Rachel gets up to such as getting a Tattoo and flying round the world to meet someone you had a crush on at school all in the space of two weeks!
I liked the little part where Jenny Lopez turns up in the book it did give a familiar feel to the book, without actually taking over the book. It was a nice touch.

The style in which Lindsey writes her books is unlike any Author I have read before she really has got an edge to her books and that continues to show in this latest book.

I would defiantly recommend this book. I couldn’t find any negative points to this book it is everything I look for in a great easy chick-lit style read. If you have a holiday coming up this is the book you should be taking with you. We now have the wait for the next in the I Heart series which comes out this year and I still hold onto the hope that Lindsey Kelk will be writing a full book of Jenny Lopez!

***Thank you to HarperCollins for sending me this book to review ***

Jenny Lopez has a Bad Week by Lindsey Kelk

From my previous reviews you will see that I loved the I Heart series by Lindsey Kelk. They are the kind of book where you are at a loose end when you come to the end of the book as you get so wrapped up in the story that you do not want it to end!
Lindsey Kelk has been kind to us by giving us a little something to keep us going until the next I Heart book comes out. Jenny Lopez Has A Bad Week is the title to this new short story and can be found on Amazon for the Kindle.
Plot
Jenny Lopez is on an all time low, returning back home to New York and a dead end. Jenny needs to find herself some work and get some love back in her life and the little thing of finding a flatmate. Jenny finds work with her friend Erin, looking after a top supermodel with a big attitude. Jenny also has someone lined up to come and look at the flat, a gay guy called Sigge. With work in sight and a possible flat mate it is time to get the romance flowing but are any of the dates she goes on going to have a happy ever after ?

My Opinion
Jenny Lopez Has A Bad week is short story of only 82 pages so as you can imagine it is a very quick read which is why I was surprised at how much the story had me gripped in such a short space of time. I was really enjoying the book when it suddenly finished I do feel like this story is like dangling sweets in front of a child! A real teaser!
I thought it was quite nice to hear more from Angela’s friend Jenny for a change. Jenny’s character is lovely to read and I think you would be fine to read this story without having read the previous I heart series.
The best part for me was reading about her first date, I really felt for her but there was also a part of me that just wanted to laugh at her misfortune of having to sit there with that guy! This did provide the story with a nice touch of light humor.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short story my only hope is that Lindsey Kelk decides to make this story into a full book as I really think it will be a page turner.

I Heart Hollywood by Lindsey Kelk

As you would have seen from my previous reviews I didnt realise these books were part of a series and I had read the last one before the first!! I heart Hollywood is the second of three books in Lindsey Kelks I Heart series and having enjoyed the other two in the series I decided to read the middle remaining one.

The main character of the I heart books is Angela Clark. Angela has moved to New York after she found her husband having an affair in the back of their car at their best friend's wedding. She had to get away from everyone so she fled to New York which is where we left her in the first book building her new life, dating and writing her blog for the Look.

In I heart Hollywood Angela Clark is given a big opportunity to go to Hollywood and interview the gorgeous actor James Jacobs.
Things take a rollercoaster turn for Angela when Photographs of her and James are released making it look like they are an item this causes huge problems with her relationship with new boyfriend Alex, and with her work she is close to losing her job which also means losing her Visa and having to go back to her old life in England.

Angela has to try and prove that there is nothing going on between her and James but this is not going to be easy. No one believes her and she has to admit looking at the pictures it does paint a pretty convincing story. But Angela finds out some information which could save her but will she be able to prove it?

I really enjoyed this book although I have to say it was my least favourite out of the three books in the series. I didn't warm to Angela as much in this book as the other two but I do not feel this ruined the book. All the way through the book you are constantly hoping that things will turn around for Angela as she has so much to lose after she has built her life back up.

I would recommend this book but I would say make sure you do read the first book before as although you will still follow the storyline easily enough you may not like the character of Angela as her characteristics are built up to you in the first book. I have thoroughly enjoyed all three of the I Heart books.

I Heart New York by Lindsey Kelk

Lindsey Kelk has wrote three books in the I Heart series
I heart New York,
I heart Hollywood
and I heart Paris.

If you have read my previous reviews you will know I was unaware of this as I read the I heart Paris which is the last book first and only once I started reading this book did I fall in that there were previous books.

I thoroughly enjoyed the last book and so I decided to go back and read the first one I Heart New York which I managed to find in the Library.

All of the I heart books look pretty much the same on the front cover with the big I Heart Title on the front and also the bright girly chick lit look to them.

Angela Clark has a life changing moment when she finds her boyfriend Mark with another woman in the back of their car at their bestfriends wedding. To make matters worse her bestfriends knew about it and after her relationship is clearly over and the wedding ruined with a groom with a broken hand Angela decides she needs to get away and flies for the first time to New York!!!

Through the rest of the book we watch Angela pick herself up from the disaster with the help of new friend Jenny and begin to make a life for herself writing for "The look" a blog about her days in New York and she also starts dating again. Only thing she doesn't know for sure is is this still a vacation or is this her new life, choices have to be made.

I enjoyed this book just as much as the last one. I was surprised that I seemed to warm to Angela's character more in the last book. I did not find this predictable which I have found so much in the recent Chick-lit books I have been reading.

The story line has you gripped as I think most girls can relate to the way Angela feels even if we didn't run off to another part of the world! The one character I changed my opinion of in this book was Angela's best friend Louisa who in the last book I felt quite sorry for her losing her best friend and also having her wedding ruined but after now reading the books in order I am surprised that they are still friends as it turns out in the beginning of this first book Louisa actually knew about Angela's boyfriend Mark having an affair!!

The ending of the book is left wanting more and is clearly left open for another book. I can not wait to read the next one I heart Hollywood.
I would recommend anyone who enjoys a light, warm, easy chick-lit read to read this book. Although I had read the books the wrong way around I don't feel that it ruined the story line in anyway.

I Heart Paris by Lindsey Kelk

I saw this book when I was looking in the library new books section and the cover shouted out to me even though it was an author I had not heard of before. The front cover looks like your typical fun, chick-lit style read.

The problem was it was not until I got home and started to read that I found out that this book was the third in the series after I Heart New York and I heart Hollywood.
I was unsure if to carry on reading as I was worried I wouldn't be able to fall into the story having not read the previous books. The trouble was I didn't have another book so I carried on.

The book is about Angela Clarke who writes her own blog. At the beginning of this book her boyfriend, Alex, suggests a trip to Paris which fits in nicely with a new job opportunity for Angela to write a piece for Belle magazine on Paris and also for Alex to play at a festival.

Trouble starts with the moment Angela gets on the plane and the disasters keep coming. When arriving in Paris Angela finds that her luggage has been blown up so she only has the items which she is standing in. If this was not bad enough when she walks into the cafe to meet Alex she sees a blonde bombshell sitting on his lap! Angela finds herself very isolated and a little home sick in this book when she finds out some truths about Alex's past, and finds herself at a point where her job, relationship, and friendships are all on the line.

What was meant to be a nice romantic break to Paris was actually the break from hell. You find when you are reading this book you keep thinking surely things cannot get any worse for Angela but something else always seems to happen.

As I said I didnt read the previous books but I have to say I still flowed along nicely with the story. There were a few references which kept coming up to do with a past relationship and a previous trip to LA which obviously I could not relate to. I would advise you to read the previous two books first!

I was surprised how much I warmed to Angela as a character as I would have thought with there being three books her personality would have to grow on you but I did not find that this was the case. You generally felt for Angela on many occasions .
There was a surprising twist towards the end of the book which I really did not see coming but had me on the edge of my seat! I do love a book with twists and not being able to predict what is going to happen in the next chapter. I do find many chick-lit books become repetitive but this book was defiantly not following in those footsteps.

I enjoyed this book so much I am now going to try and get the other two books to read. I can only hope that they are as good, if not better than this book.
This book is a light chick- lit read and would be an ideal holiday book. I still think that there could be another book released after this one as things were not tied up at the end of the book her life is still left hanging in the air.
